Snag This Look: Rustic Entryway
A well decorated entryway sets the tone for the rest of your home. It is the first and last part of your home that people see. This weeks Snag This Look features a beautiful rustic entryway.
For those of you who have a cottage, rustic, or farmhouse feel you’ll want to make sure your entryway mimics the look of the rest of the home. Your entryway should feel inviting.
By decorating your home to match the decor of the rest of your home you set the tone upon entry. The last thing you want is a plain undecorated area making the first and last impression. It will look off.
In this week’s post we are decorating a rustic entryway. Our inspiration below has a homey feel to it.
The light colors mixed with the dark wood flooring is simply beautiful. The gallery wall is very well set up and the bench offers a homey look. The baskets underneath make for a great storage place for daily shoes. While the coat rack will keep jackets of chairs and railings.
I personally would keep the coat rack on the bottom of the gallery wall to make sure no beautiful pieces were covered during the winter months.
Entryways should be a useful environment. It should store daily necessities like coats, sweaters, and shoes without looking cluttered. When decorating your entryway keep functionality a priority.
Rustic Entryway Gallery Wall
To start I want to create our gallery wall. Many of the wall decor I chose for our rustic entryway came from Etsy.
Etsy is perfect for rustic, farmhouse, and cottage like decor. Rustic decor is easier to accomplish with unique handmade products as opposed to many of the manufactured products you find in stores.
To create your own rustic decor I highly recommend visiting Etsy.

This beautiful rustic window makes a great center for your gallery wall. You can place a hook on the wall in the middle to hang wreaths throughout the season changes or holidays. Or leave it plain. The window frame is large which makes an awesome focal point for your gallery wall.
I picked two large signs to go over the window pane. While both similar in size and style I picked both because for my gallery wall I would put one above and one below. However, if you have a long entryway putting them diagonal from each other on either side of the window pane would work just as well.
This is the second and smaller of the two signs but only by a couple of inches. Both sayings create a welcoming environment. Use both or just one in your entryway depending on size.
I love this rustic sign. It hangs by a rope adding a bit more of a rustic feel. The wood color and white lettering will mix wonderfully on your gallery wall.
The weathered wood look continues the farmhouse charm of our foyer. The saying is a great way to start your day as you head out into the world in the morning.
Add some blue morning glory style flowers and that dash of color from the previous sign is balances the color.
Rustic Entryway Coat Rack
To finish off our gallery wall this beautiful handcrafted coat rack will hang wonderfully underneath. Keep winter gear, sweaters, and light jackets in order. Complete our rustic entryway with this functional piece.

Rustic Entryway Bench
While made for the outdoors this lovely handcrafted bench comes in several different sizing options. Perfect for sitting to put on shoes or remove them it can be small enough for an entryway while still being a functional part of the room.
Rustic Entryway Rug
This beautiful rug comes from Amazon. It has fantastic ratings and is light enough to add brightness to your entryway while still being extremely functional and easy to clean. It keeps with the rustic feel and doesn’t take away from our gallery wall.
Rustic Entryway Storage
These baskets complete our rustic entryway. Easily filled with shoes, mittens, gloves, hats, and scarves. They are the most functional part of our foyer. They keep necessary items close while also hiding them from sight keeping your entryway free from clutter.
No matter what style you go with always keep functionality in mind when decorating your entryway. You want it to remain clean and inviting while still storing some of the more essential items.
