I am going to toot my own horn here and claim the title of most lazy hostess ever. Planning an epic 4th of July party while being a lazy hostess can be a bit difficult. Lucky for you I’m here to share some of my biggest tips on how to throw a 4th of July party when you’re a lazy hostess.

Drinks

Any great Independence Day party has a selection of awesome drinks. When you are a lazy hostess though making complicated red, white, and blue drinks are the last thing you want to do.

The solution to this problem is make drinks that can be made in bulk. Now you are spending less time making drinks and more time enjoying your party.

This is perfect for the more laid back hostess. The kind of hostess that would prefer to make everything ahead of time so all she needs to do is enjoy the party. The kind of hostess I am.

This is an easy drink to mix up lots of and serve in large pitchers or with a ladle. Easy to mix the night before and so delicious your guests will keep coming back for more.

4th of July Wine Sparklers

I love this super easy spritzer. It can easily be whipped up in a flash. Garnish with star shaped watermelon and blueberries for a beautiful 4th of July themed drink. Of course for the super lazy hostess frozen strawberries will work just as well and double as a way to keep it cool without watering it down.

Mix a dry white wine with lemon lime soda in a large pitcher. Add the garnish and enjoy. It’s seriously that easy.

Food

When it comes to the main course buy some burgers and hot dogs. Grilling it up takes no time. Throw a couple bags of chips into bowls and call the main course done.

Now you can focus on what really matters, the desserts. That’s right do it up nice for the desserts. People will feel like you put a lot of time and effort into planning your party when in all actuality you threw some things together with very little effort.

4th of July Rice Krispie Treats

With very little effort you have a wonderful Independence Day dessert. Just split your melted marshmallow into three parts dye one part blue and one part red and leave the 3rd white. Mix into rice Krispies and layer into a pan covered with parchment paper. Cut and enjoy.

Don’t cut out star shaped cookies when you can just decorate cookie bars with red, white, and blue M&M’s with sprinkles. You have a themed dessert with very little effort. It’s the ultimate in lazy hostess baking.

Red, White, and Blue Rice Krispie Cheesecake

While you are making the red, white, and blue rice Krispie treats. Go ahead and whip this bad boy together. It takes no time and you don’t even need to use your oven. How kick ass is that?

Decor

No 4th of July party would be complete without some decorations. Well when you are a lazy hostess who’s also a bit cheap the last thing you want to do is a bunch of DIY decorations.

Well I have a few easy ones that will take no time to do and still make it look like you spent a lot of time doing it.

Patriotic Centerpieces

Get a couple of mason jars or clear jars from around the house. Grab the food coloring and some daisy’s. One red, one clear, and one blue with white daisies makes for beautiful centerpieces without wasting any of your time.

Painted Lawn Stars

This one may take a bit of time but I include it because it’s so easy to do and looks freaking awesome!

Simply cut out a star in a piece of cardboard. Grab some construction marking paint at your local hardware store and spray away. Super easy and an awesome way to decorate your lawn for an epic Independence Day party.

Games

No party would be complete without a few games right? Well, creating games can be a bit of a hassle. So do yourself a favor and pick up your phone.

That’s right start calling around to your invited friends and ask if they have a corn hole set you can borrow for the party. If your friends have it they would be delighted to help out without actually having to make anything themselves.

If you can’t find anyone who has it, rent it! That’s right simply search rent corn hole in google and I’m sure you can find someone nearby that will rent out corn hole for you to use at your party.

If you want one more game to play try a giant ring toss game. Get larger sticks or flags and toss hula hoops. It’s another game that takes very little effort on your part.Check out my post 10 Creative 4th Of July Activities.
